West Borneo has many traditional dances . Such as Dayak culture ,has many variations of dance . Damnce monong a healing dance found in the dayak community . Dance Jonggan is kanayatn dayak social dance community in the area Kubu Raya , Mempawah . Zapin dance in west Kalimantan Malay community . It can be seen from the development Zapin dance creations .
Each dance has a different function . Such as the funcion is serves as healer to disease so the patient can recover with the dance acting as shaman incantations . theres also can be use as a medium by side attractions and dance depart from the ancestral culture, dance to society,as the media says happines in relationship .
Traditional dance is perform with music . Gong is a percussion instrument made of brase , is a multifunctioal instrument both as a dowry . Sapek is a traditional stringed musicl instrument of the upper Kapuas wealth among the dayak community . Zapin dance musical accompaiment consists of two main tool < the stranged musical instrument and three small drums .
Zapin dance , if it uses a property tembung , is called zapin tembung then , if a fan is called Zapin fan . They are also use mandau as property , is a typr of sword that is unique , with carvings and paculiar . We can use this properties to sho their dance tumbak , piston riffle , umbul umbul and lampion .
